Stockholm kitchen knives
Designed by Jesper Ståhl
Included in the ‘Stockholm’ collection is a range of kitchen knives with a design that matches the cutlery; the same combination of streamlined matte-polished stainless steel and smooth black handles. An all-round chef’s knife a bread knife and a cheese knife. The ‘Stockholm’ knives are made by one of China’s leading producers of kitchen knives which they supply to restaurant kitchens all over the world. The steel is hot-forged and then fitted with a matt black thermoplastic handle. This fine example of skilled metal work is included in our New Scandinavian Kitchen range.
Few domestic tools are as intimate and as important to us as those connected with eating, cooking and serving. Details like volume, balance and weight — the tactile characteristics of the material and the way in which the tools lie in the hand — all contribute to the total impression of the meal.
“Designing a collection of cutlery and kitchen tools is the ultimate design project. It involves the functional aspects of ergonomics and production, to find the right balance and weight. But also artistic expression — strong visual, emotional and tactile qualities. It’s a collection of everyday jewellery.”
