New Design House Stockholm collection for HemtexAUGUST 31, 2011 |
| Hemtex is the leading retail company for home textiles in the Nordic countries, with 172 stores in Sweden, Finland and Estonia. One year ago, Design House Stockholm was asked to develop new products for Hemtex, and accepted the challenge. The mission was to create products with timeless qualities, products that will last season after season to become classics, in the same spirit as Design House Stockholm's own collection.
Design House Stockholm chose to work with the following designers in our network: Daniel Östman, Helena Sellergren, Maria Håård, Philip Edis, Nina Jobs, Carina Ahlburg, Ulla Christiansson, Karin Ehrenberg, My Erwander and Alexander Lervik. Most of the products will be launched during 2012, but a small collection will be on sale for Christmas 2011. All products will be launched exclusively for Hemtex. Parts of the home textile collections will be produced in Sweden, by Rydboholms Textil. The company Ryboholms was founded in the 1830's, and have produced several classics, such as the "Signed Textile" collection for Ljungbergs textil with patterns by several of the best Modernist designers in Sweden, and Josef Frank's textiles for Svenskt Tenn. Rydboholms Textil has produced Stig Lindberg's textiles for Design House Stockholm for several years, and since one year the two companies has also launched a collection of bedlinen with Lindberg's patterns "Lustgården" and "Fruktlåda" exclusively for the Japanese market. The products have become a huge success in department stores such as Isetan and Seibu in Tokyo. Design House Stockholm is very pleased to work with an experienced producer such as Rydboholms, and hope that Hemtex's customers will appreciate the choice of a local Swedish producer.
