HYBE DESIGN TEAM

The tightly knit office of HYBE DESIGN TEAM works with both interior design and architecture challenges. While often modern in their general outlook, their probing of the future is firmly grounded in both the present and the past. With the exhibition Reframing for Designart Tokyo 2024, they tried to go beyond the limits in the reuse of recycled materials. PET-bottles and discarded steel might be commonly appropriated and turned into a part of everyday design, but can they be taken further? Can a raw simplicity and sustainability fuse together to redefine the future of design?  

Founded by Jun Takeda, who graduated in design at Kobe Design University 2011, HYBE DESIGN TEAM work closely together with clients, artists, craftsmen, and construction professionals producing a wide range of interior architecture all over Japan.
"I always try to bring a hybrid approach where something very old and traditional can meet the modern," explains Jun Takeda who lets his team create unique furniture and design objects for a wide variety of interior architecture projects. The Fireplace Lamp is a fine example of this design philosophy where the memory of the fireplace comes alive when the spectator move around the precisely sculpted design of glass and steel. Fireplace Lamp was exhibited at Rossana Orlandi Gallery during il Salone, in 2023.
